IN-PERSON THERAPY
There is something
different about being
in the room together.
Therapy asks us to pay attention to things that can be easy to move past in everyday life. Meeting in person gives us a dedicated space to slow down, notice what is happening, and stay with experiences that may be difficult to put into words.

BEING IN THE SAME ROOM
Some things are easier to notice when we’re sitting together.
Therapy involves more than the words we say. A pause, a change in expression, the way someone settles into the room, or the feeling that emerges in a moment of silence can all become part of our understanding of what is happening.
Being together in person allows us to pay attention to these moments without a screen between us. For some people, this can make it easier to feel present, connected, and engaged in the work.
The room gives us a place to slow down and stay with what might otherwise pass quickly.
For couples, being physically together can be especially meaningful. I can observe the ways you turn toward or away from one another, how you respond when your partner becomes vulnerable, and what happens between you when difficult feelings emerge.
Rather than only describing these patterns, we have an opportunity to work with them as they happen.
A SPACE FOR THERAPY
The room matters, too.
I’ve tried to create an office that feels comfortable, private, and distinct from the pace of everyday life. A place where you can settle in, take your time, and give your attention to something that may not have much room elsewhere.
The physical environment is a small but meaningful part of therapy. Having a consistent place to return to each week can help create a sense of continuity around the work we’re doing together.
A dedicated space can make it easier to leave the rest of the day outside for a while.
READY TO BEGIN
We can start with a conversation.
A consultation gives us a chance to talk briefly about what brings you to therapy, what you’re looking for, and whether working together feels like a good fit.
In-person sessions are available at my office in Toluca Lake.
